6、倒塌fall off 墜落;減少;跌落;下降;離開;衰退fall on 落到;襲擊;撲向fall from 從落下fall behind 拖欠;落在后面fall asleep入睡in the fall在秋天(fall為名詞)rise and fall(物價(jià))漲落;抑揚(yáng);興衰 【辨析】fall over, fall down與fall off 它們都有“摔倒;跌倒”的意思,但各自的含義不同。 (1)fall over表示“向前摔倒;跌倒”。如: She fell over and broke her leg. 她跌倒并把腿摔斷了。 (2)fall down表示“滑倒;倒下”,后接賓語時(shí)應(yīng)加上介詞
7、from。如: The boy hit the tree so hard that he fell down. 男孩重重地撞在樹上,結(jié)果倒下了。 (3)fall off表示“跌落;從掉下來”,后面直接接賓語。如: They spread a big net in case Tom falls off the tree and gets hurt. 他們鋪開一張大網(wǎng)以防湯姆從樹上掉下來受傷。 1. 9、l be angry if you tell a lie. 如果你說謊,我會(huì)生氣。 (4)tell a white lie意為“說善意的謊言”。如: To protect her daughter, the mother told a white lie. 為了保護(hù)女兒,這位母親說了一個(gè)善意的謊言。 (5)tell sb. (not) to do sth.意為“告訴某人(不要)做某事”。如: Tell children not to play basketball on the street. 告訴孩子們不要在街上打籃球。 2. Wed better get you to hospital.
