3、 method, task-based method 【教學手段】 A tape recorder, multimedia and some pictures 【教學過程】 Teaching Procedures: Step 1 Lead-in Let Ss enjoy a song together.(Auld Lang Syne). What is the song about? Friendship. Today we will learn Unit 2, here is a speech that given by Betty at the school leave
4、rs’ party. Suppose that you were Betty, what will you say at the school leavers’ party? Now let us learn the passage and check your answers. Step 2 Consolidate new words and expressions The teachers shows the new words and expressions of this lesson. rose n. 玫瑰 kindness n. 善舉;好意 disappoint

8、her buy a violin? Keys: Three. Yes, he did. Step 5 Reading 1. Ask Ss to find sentences which show the following situations in the passage: 1) the three things the speaker has learnt 2) the three groups of people the speaker wants to thank 3) what the speaker has learnt from each group of peop

I always finished last and I just wanted to give up. give up 放棄 e.g. Smoking is bad for you, so give up smoking right now. 常見的含give的短語有: give back ①還給,歸還;②恢復(健康等)。 give in ①交進來;②認輸,投降;③讓步,勉強同意。 give out ①散發(fā);②停止運轉(zhuǎn);③被用完,耗盡;④發(fā)出,散發(fā)出。 give away ①
18、送給人,分發(fā);②背棄,出賣;③泄露。 4. I give the white rose to my teachers, who have taught me that there is no success without effort. who have taught me that there is no success without effort是一個非限制性定語從句,對前面的先行詞teachers進行信息的補充,而不是限定性描述。與限定性定語從句不同,非限定性定語從句前面通常加逗號,從句部分即使被省略也不會照成主句意義上的不完整。非限定性定語從句中的關(guān)系代詞不能省略。此句中
19、還包含有一個賓語從句that there is no success without effort, 作have taught的賓語。 no/not … without …表示“沒有…就不…”。 e.g. We can’t achieve anything without you. 5. I still can’t run fast enough, but I’ve learnt to try my best, not only with running but with whatever else I do. try one’s best 盡某人最大努力 其后常接帶to的
20、動詞不定式,即try one’s best to do sth.,表示“盡力做某事”。 e.g. Try your best to do whatever you do. not only … but .... 不但……而且…… e.g. The girl is not only clever but hardworking. 6. I was disappointed. disappointed adj. 失望的 e.g. I felt disappointed when he gave up studyi

Then, on the morning of my birthday, I woke up to find a beautiful violin at my bedside. bedside表示“床邊,床頭”。 句中的to find a beautiful violin at my bedside是一個不定式結(jié)構(gòu),表示行為的結(jié)果。 e.g. He arrived at the station to find the train gone. Step 8 Writing Ask Ss to write a speech they might give at
