19、兒耳背了。 speak up表示“大點兒聲說”。例如: e.g. Speak up, please. I can’t hear you. 請大聲一點兒,我聽不見你說話。 Step 8 Grammar 形容詞與副詞 對于形容詞與副詞,我們主要掌握兩點,一是形容詞與副詞的句法功能,二是形容詞與副詞的比較級和最高級。 1. 形容詞的句法功能 一般來說,形容詞可以放在名詞之前作定語,也可以放在系動詞之后作表語,還可以作賓語補足語等。例如: Did you see that old photograph that I found? It’s a lovely picture. 你看見

20、我找到的那張老照片了嗎?畫面真美。(定語) They were very nice. 他們很友善。(表語) People’s lives seem busy now. 現(xiàn)在人們的生活似乎很忙碌。(表語) We must keep our classroom clean and tidy. 我們必須保持教室干凈整潔。(賓語補足語) 形容詞作定語一般都是放在名詞之前,但是如果修飾的是不定代詞something, anything, nothing, somebody, anybody, nobody等,就要放在后面。例如: Is there anything special in th

21、e paper today? 今天報紙上有什么特別的新聞嗎? I didn’t find anything funny about it. 我覺得這事一點兒都不可笑。 There is nothing new in the store. 商店里沒有什么新東西。 很多副詞都以-ly結(jié)尾,但是“名詞+ly”的詞則多為形容詞,如:weekly, friendly等,應(yīng)注意區(qū)別。例如: A friendly voice answered the phone. 接電話的是一個友好的聲音。 2. 副詞的句法功能 副詞一般用作狀語,修飾動詞、形容詞、副詞以及全句,表示程度、方式等。例如: Th

22、ey speak highly of you. 他們對你的評價很高。 We were very lucky to find you here. 我們很幸運在這里找到了你。 The spring passed too quickly. 春天過得太快了。 Hopefully, we’ll meet again on Friday. 希望我們星期五再見面。 3. 形容詞與副詞的比較級和最高級 就形容詞、副詞的比較級和最高級而言,一是要掌握比較級和最高級的構(gòu)成,二是要掌握比較級句型。 1) 比較級的句型 (1) 比較級+than,表示“比…更…” e.g. Health is

23、 more important than wealth. 健康比財富更重要。 He got up earlier than I did this morning. 今天早上他起得比我早。 (2) 比較級+ and+比較級,表示“越來越……”。 e.g. The story gets more and more exciting. 故事變得越來越激動人心。 Our lives are getting better and better. 我們的生活越來越好。 (3) The+比較級,the+比較級,表示 “越……,越……” e.g. The m

24、ore time you spend on it, the greater progress you will make. 你在這上面花的時間越多,你的進(jìn)步就會越大。 The more he talked, the more excited he grew. 他越說越激動。 同級比較一般采用as...as…句型,否定句可以用not so / as…表示。 e.g. He is as tall as his father. 他和父親一樣高。 I get up not so early as you. 我不如你起得早。 2) 最高級的表達(dá)方式 (1) the+

25、最高級+ of/in… e.g. Jim is the tallest of the three. 吉姆是三人中最高的。 He is the most diligent student in his class. 他是班上最勤奮的學(xué)生。 (2) 選擇疑問句 e.g. Who is the tallest, Tom, Jack or Bill? 湯姆、杰克和比爾,誰個子最高?
