Step 13 Grammar 賓語從句 根據(jù)引導詞的不同,賓語從句分為三類:that引導的賓語從句,whether/if引導的賓語從句和疑問詞引導的賓語從句。在賓語從句的使用中有以下三點需要注意: 1. 賓語從句中引導詞的選擇 賓語從句的引導詞包括that, whether, if和疑問詞。其中that, whether和if 在句中不做任何成分,如下面例句(1)和例句(2)中的that, whether,和if。而疑問詞在句中充當成分,如例句(3)中引導詞作從句中的狀語。

31、 e.g. (1)I hear (that) he has passed the exam. 我聽說他通過了考試。 (2)I wonder whether/if he has passed the exam. 我想知道他通過考試了沒有。 (3)I asked when he passed the exam. 我問他何時通過了考試。 賓語從句中的引導詞that只起連接作用,在從句中不作句子成分,也沒有詞匯意義,在口語中常被省略,如例(1)中的that。 在疑問詞引導的從句中,應根據(jù)從句的意思決定用什么引導詞。 (4) She asked me when

32、he came back home every evening. 她問我他每晚什么時候回家。 (5) Can you tell me how he got back home? 你能告訴我他怎么回家的嗎? (6) I don’t know why he came back home. 我不知道他為什么回家了。 以上三個句子的從句都在表述同一事件—“他回家”,但根據(jù)句子的語義選擇了不同的引導詞。 2. 賓語從句中的時態(tài) 一般情況下,如果主句謂語動詞時態(tài)為現(xiàn)在時或將來時,賓語從句謂語動詞可根據(jù)句意的需要使用任何時態(tài);如果主句謂語動詞為過去時態(tài),賓語從句謂語

34、nglish is already quite good. 我原來一直以為這些俱樂部是為那些英語已經說得很好的人開辦的。 注意,如果賓語從句中敘述的是真理、實際情況或經常發(fā)生的事情時,即使主句的謂語動詞為過去時態(tài),從句的謂語動詞仍要保留一般現(xiàn)在時。例如: In the past, people didn’t know that the earth moves around the sun. 過去人們不知道地球圍繞太陽轉。 I didn’t know you like classical music. 我過去不知道你喜歡古典音樂。 3. 賓語從句的語序 不管賓語從句表示肯定還是疑問

35、,都用陳述語序。例如: Can you tell me where I can get my car repaired? 你能告訴我到哪里修車嗎? I don’t know when I can get the result of the test. 我不知道什么時候能得知測驗結果。 定語從句 1. 定語從句引導詞的選擇。 從所指來看,which只能用于先行詞為物的情況,who和whom只能用于先行詞為人的情況,其中whom用于引導詞在定語從句中作賓語的情況,在口語中可用who代替;而that既可指人,又可指物。例如: Everyone that/who

36、goes to Shenzhen says it I a modern city. 每個去深圳的人都說它是一座現(xiàn)代化城市。 This is the song which/that has been extremely popular for the last few months. 這就是那首近幾個月十分流行的歌。 Mr Li is the teacher that/whom/who we like best. 李老師是我們最喜愛的老師。 2. 定語從句引導詞的省略 當引導詞在定語從句中充當賓語成分時,可以被省略。例如: What are the subjects (
