That may be all for nothing as Intel believes that well be able to control our puters with our brains by 2020. Intel and its research partners are studying how brain acts when it thinks. For example, scientists have found that peoples brains react in a similar manner when asked to think of a bear. Through sensors(感應(yīng)器)that can find this sort of brain activity, Intel thinks that it will be able to read and translate this into an input system thanks to a chip in the brain. “Were trying to prove you can do interesting things with brain waves. ”Intel research scientist Dean Pomerleau told puterworld. “Eventually people may be willing to be, more devoted to brain implants(植入物). Imagine being able to surf the Web with the Power of your thoughts. ”Even if thinking about a bear isnt enough to show that you want to copy and paste something. Intel still thinks that theres a future in using your brain instead of the keyboard. “If we can get to the point where you can accurately find specific words, you could mentally type, ”he added. “You could pose characters or words by thinking about letters flashing on the screen or typing whole words rather than their individual characters. ”While this may all sound impractical for present time, Intel thinks that its possible and something well all want. “I think human beings are unusually adaptive(適應(yīng)的), ”said Andrew Chien, vice president of research and director of future technologies research at Intel Labs. “If you told people 20 years ago that they would be carrying puters all the time, they would have said, I dont want that. I dont need that. Now you cant get them to stop carrying devices. There are a lot of things that have to be done first but I think implanting chips into human brains is well within the scope of possibility. ”Make good use of your favorite mouse and keyboard set-up before theyre old-fashioned. 【文章大意】本文主要講了現(xiàn)在Intel及同伴正在研究怎樣用人腦控制我們的電腦。1. We can only try to imagine it. At first we think about human relationship. In the year 2050, we will use puters almost every day. We will be making new friends through the Interneteven our husbands or wives will be met in this way. It will be much faster and easier for us. On the other hand, our relationships with people wont be as important as they are todaywe will feel a little lonely. puters will also help us in many other activities in 2050. For example, they will be used by the children at school to make their learning easier. In addition, there will be much more other machines which will play a similar role as puters, like robots which will do the housework for us. Spending holiday will also be pletely different. Travelling to other planets or to the moon will be available for everyone. Means of transport will, of course, change, too. We will be using solar-powered cars, which will be much more environmentally friendly. We could expect that the faster technological progress would lead to a more polluted environment. But it isnt true. We will pay more attention to protecting the environment. And, scientists will probably find cures for many dangerous diseases, like cancer or AIDS. Therefore, our surroundings as well as health will be in better condition. Although we cant predict the exact changes which will be made in the world, we often think about them. We worry about our and our childrens future; we have expectations, hopes as well as fears. But I think we should be rather sanguine about our future. We should be happy and believe good things will happen. 【文章大意】本文主要預(yù)測(cè)2050年的生活將會(huì)是怎樣的。5. Why will people probably feel a little lonely in 2050? A.
