2019-2020年北師大版高中英語必修1 Unit 2《Heroes》(Lesson 4)word教案 Teaching time :90minutes Topic Superhero students Senior one Content Students will 1.know what Christopher Reeve does. 2.read the text to get personal information about Christopher Reeve and think why he is a hero. 3.use the Reading Strategies to work out the meaning of words from the text and the phrasal verbs. Learner outcomes The students will be able to 1.ask for and give personal information. 2.use word attack skills to cope with new vocabulary and phrasal verbs. The first period (45 minutes) Materials pictures Activities Skimming Scanning Teaching procedures Teacher’s activities Students’ activities Teaching purpose Step 1 Warming-up Let the students look at the two pictures and answer the three questions on. the screen. Look at the two pictures, think about the three questions and answer the questions. To know what Christopher Reeve does. To lead in. Step 2 While-reading 1. Ask students to skim the text and find out if their answers to the three questions are correct. 2. Ask students to work in pairs, scan the text and do Exercise 3 on page 29. 3. Ask the students to work in pairs doing a brief discussion about the questions in Exercise 4. 1. Skim the text and check their answers. 2. Scan the text and match the topics with the parts of the text. 3. Discuss and open up the discussion to the whole class using the character vocabulary in the lesson Check the answers Get the personal information about Christopher Reeve. Practise the language of expressing opinions Homework Review The second period (45minutes) Materials Textbooks Activities Discussing and doing exercises in pairs Teaching procedures Teacher’s activities Students’ activities Teaching purpose Step 3 Reading Strategies 1. Read the Reading Strategies with the class and encourage students to share with the class any tips they have found helpful when trying to work out new vocabulary. Let students do Exercise 5 on Page 29. 2. Let students do Exercise 6 and Exercise 7 on Page 29. Work in pairs , check answers , make up their own sentences using some of these words and read them out to the class. Use the same strategies to choose the correct phrasal verbs in pairs. To develop word attack skills to cope with new vocabulary and phrasal verbs. Review Step 4 Speaking Let students work in pairs and make an interview. Make an interview referring to the examples given and report back to the class. Practise the language of expressing ideas.
