Why didnt Danny get wet?”“Maybe you used glue!” says one student.“No, thats not it! The air pushes up on the cardboard,” explains Brian.

The force is strong enough to hold the water.”“Air is stronger than I thought!” says Danny.Next, Brian will take his hand off the cardboard,” says Jenny.“Now you know why Im wearing my swimsuit,” says Danny.“Dannys theory is that he will now get wet,” says Jenn
16、y. ”Is he right, class?”“Yes, I think so!” says one student.“No, I dont think so!” says Brian.In this experiment, you make something thats sometimes a liquid and sometimes a solid.What do you need?l a bowll a spoonl cornstarchl waterWhat do you do?1. Put eight spoonfuls of cornstarch into the bowl.2

Sugar dissolves in water. Salt dissolves in water. But not cornstarch. It only mixes with water. When you close y
