There’s nothing to worry about as long as you work hard.只要你努力,沒什么好擔(dān)心的。 as long as在這里引導(dǎo)條件狀語從句,表示“只要”,也可以用so long as表示同樣的意思。例如: 1) You can invite you
24、r friends as / so long as you tell me two days before the party.你可以邀請朋友來,只要在聚會前兩天告訴我就行。 2) My parents don’t care what job I do as / so long as I’m happy.我父母對我從事什么工作無所謂,只要我開心就好了。 Step 11 Revision: nouns 名詞專項復(fù)習(xí): 名詞有可數(shù)與不可數(shù)之分,有數(shù)和所有格的變化,在句中可以作主語、賓語、賓語補足語、表語、同位語等。 1. 可數(shù)名詞與不可數(shù)名詞 很多情況下,我們可以依靠常識(即用數(shù)數(shù)的辦
25、法)來判斷英語名詞是否可數(shù)。比如,book, table 都是可數(shù)名詞而water是不可數(shù)名詞。一般來說,在英語中物質(zhì)名詞和抽象名詞都是不可數(shù)名詞,如flour, rice, beauty, pleasure, money等。 學(xué)習(xí)名詞必須區(qū)分其是否可數(shù)。只有可數(shù)名詞前才可以使用數(shù)詞和不定冠詞。值得注意的是,有時同一個單詞所指不同,其數(shù)的概念也就不同。例如,paper作“紙”解時為不可數(shù)名詞,表示“報紙”和“試卷”時是可數(shù)名詞;fish 指“魚肉”時是不可數(shù)名詞,表示“魚”時是可數(shù)名詞,只不過通常是單復(fù)數(shù)同形;coffee做“咖啡”解時是不可數(shù)名詞,表示“一杯咖啡”時是可數(shù)名詞。 2. 名
26、詞的數(shù) 對于可數(shù)名詞數(shù)的變化,一要掌握規(guī)則變化,即名詞后面加-s或者-es的情況;二要掌握不規(guī)則變化,包括man-men, woman-women, foot-feet, tooth-teeth, mouse-mice, child-children等;三要掌握單復(fù)數(shù)同形的單詞,如sheep等。除此之外,還應(yīng)注意以下幾點:21世紀(jì)教育網(wǎng)版權(quán)所有 1) 在一般情況下,復(fù)合名詞的單復(fù)數(shù)形式體現(xiàn)在最后一個名詞上,如a pencil box-pencil boxes, a girl student-girl students。但是如果是由man或woman構(gòu)成的復(fù)合名詞,如a man doctor
27、, a woman teacher,其復(fù)數(shù)形式則為men doctors, women teachers。 2) 有些名詞往往以復(fù)數(shù)形式出現(xiàn),如trousers, glasses(眼鏡),在表示數(shù)量時需要借助量詞,如a pair of trousers, three pairs of trousers。 3) 有些名詞表示復(fù)數(shù)概念,往往作為一個整體看待,如police, people。這些單詞沒有復(fù)數(shù)形式。但是其后面的謂語動詞卻多為復(fù)數(shù)形式。例如:The police have caught the thief. Many people have seen the film. 如果要表達單
28、個數(shù)量只能換用其他單詞。例如:“一名警察”是a policeman / policeman,“一個人”可以是a person, a man, a woman等。不過要注意,people作“民族,種族”解時,是可數(shù)名詞,復(fù)數(shù)形式是peoples。 3. 名詞的所有格 名詞的所有格一般采用名詞后加’s的形式,如a child’s dream, someone’s bag;以- s結(jié)尾的復(fù)數(shù)名詞的所有格直接加’即可,如the boys’ schoolbags。所有格表示的是所屬關(guān)系,采用’s結(jié)構(gòu)的多為有生命的名詞。如果是無生命的名詞,多采用“of+名詞”的方式表達。例如: the window
29、 of the house房子的窗戶 the end of the year年底 the gate of our school我們學(xué)校的大門 注意,a friend of my father’s 與my father’s friend的含義不同,前者含有“我父親有不止一個朋友”的意思,而后者沒有這一含義。 4. 名詞的句法功能 名詞的句法功能指名詞可以充當(dāng)?shù)木渥映煞郑R姷挠校? 1) 主語 The flight takes about thirteen hours. 航程需要大約13個小時。 Mr Wang teaches us English. 王老師教我們英語。 2)賓語
