Ⅰ.Teaching model Reading and writing Ⅱ.Teaching aims 1.To get information from the reading material about healthy food 2.To understand the usage of but and and Ⅲ.Teaching aids Tape recorder,handout Ⅳ.Teaching Steps 第一課時(Activity 1-Activity 3) Step 1:Warming up and lead-in 1.Divide students into different groups and ask one student in each group to get a piece of paper and act out the food on the paper. 2.Ask other students in each group to guess what the food is by using the structure “Have you got any…?” Ask and answer: —Have you got any…? —Yes,I have got some./No,I havent got any. 3.Write down the words on the blackboard. Step 2:Pre-reading 1.Show pictures of food and drink and teach the new words:candy,fish,rice,hamburger,ice cream,noodles 2.Ask students to classify the food and drink into two groups:food(eat) and drink(drink). 3.Ask and answer some questions about these food and drink. What do you like to drink/eat? Why do you like it?Its delicious/healthy. Why do you dislike it? Its not delicious/not healthy/unhealthy. 4.Ask students to choose only one thing to answer the questions with the structure “My favorite food/drink is…” 5.Think of six words for food and drink.Ask the students to make three lists.(Activity 1) 6.Ask several students to share their answers. 7.Let students look at the pictures and read the words and expressions in the box in Activity 2. 8.Have them label the pictures with these words and expressions from the box.Then match the words from the box with the pictures. 9.Check the answers. Keys:1.noodles 2.ice cream 3.fish 4.hamburger 5.bread 6.sugar 7.cola 8.rice 9.candies Step 3:Reading 1.Play the recording and listen to the tape carefully. 2.Play the tape,let students listen and repeat.Pay attention to the pause and intonation. 3.Ask students to read the passage in Activity 2,work in pairs and find out the difficulties in the passage,and provide necessary help. 4.Explain the difficulties to the students. 5.Ask the students to read through the passage. 6.plete the table.Then check the answers. Keys: Healthy food and drink:meat,carrots,eggs,potatoes,fish,cheese,milk,water,tea,fruit Unhealthy food and drink:ice cream,hamburgers,candy,sugar,cola Step 4:Homework 1.Learn the new words by heart. 2.Read the passage in groups. 3.Finish off the workbook exercises.
