3、:through與across 二者都可譯為“穿過(guò)〞,但through是指從空間較狹窄的一頭“穿〞行到另一頭,常指從事物〔氣氛〕內(nèi)部穿過(guò),含義與in有關(guān)系。 across是指從一條線或某一事物的外表的一邊到另一邊,常可譯為“橫過(guò)〞,“橫穿〞,含義與in無(wú)關(guān). 練一練:用 through與across 填空 <1 >The train is running ____________ the tunnel. <2> It’s dangerous to go ___________ the road when traffic lights are red. <3> Two

4、friends were walking ____________ the forest when they met a bear. 3.辨析:hope與wish <1> hope與wish后都可接動(dòng)詞不定式,但wish后還可接“sb. + to do sth. 〞的結(jié)構(gòu),而hope那么不可以。如果用hope表達(dá)主語(yǔ)希望別人做某事時(shí),后面要接賓語(yǔ)從句。hope還可以與so,not用于簡(jiǎn)略答復(fù)中。 <2> hope表示“說(shuō)話者以為想要做的事〞,通過(guò)努力可以實(shí)現(xiàn);而wish常表示“說(shuō)話者要想做某事〞,但不去想可能實(shí)現(xiàn)與否,或認(rèn)為可能性不太大。另外,hope表示“未來(lái)可能的希望〞,而wish表

One of+最高級(jí)+名詞復(fù)數(shù)意為 “最……的之一〞 5.Unless 除非……,引導(dǎo)條件狀語(yǔ)從句.比 “if…not〞略微正式. 6.辨析:else 與other else與other都可作形容詞,表示“別的〞,“其他的〞,但用法卻大不相同。else只用于修飾不定代詞,疑問(wèn)代詞和疑問(wèn)副詞,并且必須要位于這

23、的〞,同義詞是ill. 區(qū)別在于sick在句子中可以作表語(yǔ)和定語(yǔ),而ill只能做表語(yǔ)。 3.You could give out food at the food bank. 你可以在食物站分發(fā)食物。 Give out 在此處意為“分發(fā)或散發(fā)物品〞,是由“動(dòng)詞+副詞〞構(gòu)成的動(dòng)副詞短語(yǔ),相當(dāng)于hand out 和 give away. 4.We need to come up with a plan. 我們需要制訂一個(gè)方案。 come up with = think up 意思是“想出〞。 5.We can’t put off making a plan. 我們不能推遲制訂方案。 P

25、 doing what I love to do. 我不但感覺(jué)很好,而且我還把時(shí)間花費(fèi)在我喜歡做的事情上。 句中的not only…but( also)… 意思是“不但……而且……〞,also 可以省略,用于連接句中成分相同的局部。如果它們連接兩個(gè)句子,not only 放在句首時(shí),前一個(gè)分句要用倒裝語(yǔ)序,即把助動(dòng)詞提前,而but also后的句子用自然語(yǔ)序。 如果not only… but(also)結(jié)構(gòu)用來(lái)連接主語(yǔ)時(shí),謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞的單復(fù)數(shù)遵循“就近一致原那么〞,即和but(also)后的名詞或代詞的數(shù)一致。如: Not only Zhou Xia but also her parents
