Earlier this school year, a yoga room opened up in our school for students to use as one of our options for a rest activity. My classmates and I decided that we were going to test it out and see if it was any good or not. We signed up in the cafeteria so we could go

When we walked into the studio, we were shocked to see so many yoga mats(墊子) there were! We all took off our shoes and picked yoga mats that were next to each other. Then, the yoga teacher put on some relaxing music and we started.
First, we sat in either the half lotus(蓮花式), full lotus, or Indi
3、an style poses. Half lotus is one leg over the other. Full lotus is both legs over each other. And Indian style is crisscrossed(十字交叉的) legs.
If we felt full of energy, we would put our hands down during our pose. If we felt tired, we put our hands up. Then, we did sun salutations(拜日式). One example
4、of this is when you put your hands together and welcome others to do yoga with you. Finally, we did a couple of other yoga poses together. One pose was the downward dog(下犬式). The yoga pose made me think of dogs.
We all enjoyed this activity. We've gone back to the studio several times since then. I

When I was eight years old, my mother told me to
8、 put my coat on because we were going to go somewhere special. Usually, that meant we were going to see someone important. I would at least get a new toy. I asked which one it would be that day, and she told me that I would get something better than a toy. She said I would get “access(通道) to a world
9、 of toys”. I had no real idea what she meant. Did that mean we were buying a toy store?
But we did not end up at any toy store. Neither did we finally see anyone we knew. Instead, my mother pulled her car into a parking lot in front of a building that looked like something out of the past. It did

We took stone steps up to the entrance. Only then I found out what this place was, because there was a sign that said “Marcy Public Library”. We pushed the door open, and my mother led me to the front desk. “I'd like to get my daughter a library card,” she told the ma
11、n behind the desk. He asked her to fill out a form. “What kind of books do you like to read?” he asked. I was too shy to reply. I only smiled. “Well, you'll find it out in time,” he said. I do not remember what I picked out that day, but I know that in the years that followed I read through books on
12、 history, books of poetry, and books about art. The library opened up a world that I never knew that day.
So my mother was right. Getting a library card was like getting the access to a world of toys.
