(4) Call back the answers from the whole class.Task 2: Think about things you know about life on other planets.Directions:(1). Let the Ss look at the picture and the title of the unit. Read thesentence given. Elicit some more from the Ss, and note them on the board. Accept anything they give.(2). Pair the Ss to talk about life on other planets.Part III: Scanning and Skimming1.Task: Read the passage and choose the best title. Directions:Step one: The teacher ask the Ss to read the titles.Step two: Ss read the passage and choose the best title individually.Step three: Call back the answers from the whole class, asking for reasons for their choice.2. Task: Read the passage and put the words and expressions in order in activity 3. Directions:Step one: First make sure the Ss understand what they should do. Eight other planets also go around the Sun. 地球是行星，它圍繞著太陽轉(zhuǎn)。還有8顆行星也圍繞著太陽轉(zhuǎn)。(1)過去一直認(rèn)為太陽系有九大行星：水星（Mercury），金星(Venus)，地球(Earth)，火星(Mars)，木星(Jupiter)，天王星(Uranus)，海王星(Neptune)，冥王星(Pluto)。xx年，科學(xué)家一致認(rèn)定太陽系有八大行星：水星，金星，地球，火星，木星，天王星，海王星。即去掉原來的冥王星。(2) 注意：數(shù)詞other名詞的復(fù)數(shù)，而another數(shù)詞名詞的復(fù)數(shù)。例如：I have eaten 2 apples, I would like 3 other apples.我已經(jīng)吃了2個(gè)蘋果了，我想再吃3個(gè)。I have eaten 2 apples, I would like another 3 apples. 我已經(jīng)吃了2個(gè)蘋果了，我想再吃3個(gè)。 文章中還有一句： But scientist have discovered many other galaxies in the universe.但是科學(xué)家在宇宙中已經(jīng)發(fā)了很多其他的星系。 3.The stars we see at night are the suns in other solar systems.我們?cè)谕砩峡匆姷男切鞘瞧渌栂抵械暮阈恰?（1）we see 是定語，修飾The stars。 (2) sun小寫作為普通名詞使用，表示“恒星”。如果大寫，表示我們太陽系中的太陽。例如： The Sun is shining. 4. With so many stars in the universe, are we alone, or is there life out there in space?宇宙中有這么多的恒星，我們是孤獨(dú)的嗎？太空中還有其他生命嗎？ With so many stars in the universe是介詞短語，在句子中作狀語，表示伴隨情況。例如：The boy ran in, with a ball in his hand.小男孩手里拿著球，跑了進(jìn)來。Part V: Language use1. Activity 5 on page 21 in the WB.Direction: Ss do it by themselves .Lets see who can finish it as soon as possible. Then discuss in pairs and finally share their answers with the class. 2.Give the students some time to recall what theyve learned in this class.Part VI: Homework: Retell the text.
