Every time he delivered a letter to Mrs. Brown, he had to finish his work quite late bec

25、ause she lived far away. However, Tom did not mind this, for Mrs. Brown always kind and invited him in for a drink. When Tom entered the gate of Mrs. Brown’s house yesterday, he didn’t see her working in the garden. He was surprised because she usually spent afternoon there when the weather was fine

26、. Tom thought she might be in the kitchen, then he went to the back of the house but the door was locked, so he returned to the front of house and knocked hard on the door. There was no answer. Tom thought this was very strange because he knew Mrs. Brown seldom left the house. Just then he noticed t

27、hat her milk delivered early in the morning was still out the door. If Mrs. Brown had not taken in her milk, perhaps she was ill. Tom walked around the house and found an open window. He went inside and found Mrs. Brown was lying on the floor of the living room. Tom realized that there was little he

28、 could do. He called for an ambulance. Tom was a postman. One day, he delivered a letter to Mrs. Brown but he didn’t see her working in the garden. He knocked hard on the door but nobody answered. He noticed that her milk delivered early in the morning was still out the door. Perhaps she was ill. He found an open window and went inside the house. He found Mrs. Brown was lying on the floor. He called for an ambulance. 5
