break down表示“出故障”;break into表示“闖入”;break up表示“破裂”;只有break out表示“爆發(fā)”。 是形容詞短語作狀語,相當于she was happy to watch…,to watch為動詞不定式作形容詞happy的補語。 5.A 6.A 考查

break out 表示“突然發(fā)生,爆發(fā)”;break up表示“崩潰,分離,解散,結(jié)束”;break in表示“闖入”。 7.B as well as表示“也,還”。 stand for表示“代表”; stand by表示“堅持(某種)說法”;base sth.on sth.

18.D under the rule of在……的統(tǒng)治下;under the control of在……

、地,所以用in turn(依次;輪流)。 21.D wait for sb. to do… 22.A make sb. do使某人做某事,有強迫的意思;force和cause不能接不帶to的不定式。let sb. do sth.

、ek(面頰)。 由首段第二句There we ______ the tour… 29.A 訓練員命令游客把胳膊抱在胸前,in front of在……

There are not enough graduate jobs。

根據(jù)第一段第三句至第六句“…I found they took half a closet to store…use that much space … I took them back…” 根據(jù)第一段“…save time and money by passing up bargains”可知passing up在這里意思是“放棄,放過”,即放棄討價還價可以節(jié)約時間當然也節(jié)約金錢了。
