Unit 1 What does she look like?(The first period)Teaching aims: 1.Learn the new words: tall, short, long hair, round face, young, old. 2. Master the following patterns: what does she look like?She is. She has.Teaching main and difficult points: 1 the adjectives of general description. 2 describe peoples looks.Teaching steps:Step1.Warming-upGames: Robert Dance目的在于活躍氣氛,調(diào)動學生的積極性,減少學生的緊張情緒。加之五官屬于人的長相的范疇,所以與此課人物外貌相關連,這樣引入就能自然過渡到本節(jié)課的內(nèi)容。人物前活動用于掃除學生的語言障礙,因此在教學上以激發(fā)學生的學習興趣為主,通過活動讓學生感知、操練語言,為下一步活動做好鋪墊。Rulers: I say touch your eyes/ears/ nose/mouth/shoulder/legs/arm. you should do it .If you are wrong, you have to sit down. The person who does it correctly is the winner.after that we begin to study our lesson.Step2.PresentationT: Do you like Miss Yan?Ss: Yes.T: Why?Ss: Because you are beautiful.T: Thank you. Do you like her?(圖片展示)Ss: Yes.T: OK, I know you think she is a beautiful girl, too. Today, we will learn Unit 1 What does she look like? ( 圖片展示同時板書。)Then teach the new words and new sentences pattern.The teacher uses the pictures to lead and teach the new words and the new sentence pattern. And then ask the Ss to describe the classmates.先利用圖片展示進行新單詞句型的引入,讓學生熟悉。接著要求其他同學描述三位外貌典型的同學,再小組練習。這樣更形象,更貼近生活,學生更容易接受,加強了學生間的合作與交流。再按發(fā)形,身高,體重的類別練習以免混淆,同時加深記憶。在教學的過程中,我要求學生描述教室里聽課的老師,學生們十分激動,想著能用英語描述自己的老師了,他們特別高興。此時的氣氛很活躍。Its the first day of new term. Then ask Ss practice like this.A: What does he look like?B: He has short hair. He is tall. He has a round face.這樣完整地描述人的外表是為后面能安排、完成任務做鋪墊,同時能檢測學生的掌握情況,以便老師隨時調(diào)控。Step4.PracticeGuessing game:At first the teacher gives the Ss an example. Then ask Ss to describe anyone in the classroom. Let the others guess.這個游戲的安排目的是讓學生通過他人的描述,去發(fā)現(xiàn)別人的外部特征。培養(yǎng)學生聽、說以及辨別能力,同時可活躍課堂氣氛。Free talk: talk about any person who you like.這是一個任務教學,讓學生描述自己的家人、朋友及喜愛的明星,增添他人對自己的了解。學生拿出事先準備好的自己最喜愛的電影、足球明星,在小組里輪流進行描述。然后在組與組之間進行資源共享,讓學生在講臺上用投影儀進行展示。(通過這一活動,使學生在掌握一定的英語基礎知識和基本技能,能與小組成員合作共同完成學習任務,發(fā)展語言的綜合運用能力,并創(chuàng)造性地使用英語表達自己的思想)。Describe and drawAsk Ss to describe “What do you look like when you are 20 years old and draw a picture of it.設計這個任務目的在于讓學生能學有所用,想象設計一下自己20歲風華正茂時的樣子,并畫出來,讓此堂課別開生面,樂趣橫生。同時這培養(yǎng)學生的多種能力,讓其能動手動口。在學生掌握好的前面的知識的基礎上再處理學習書上的知識,就化難為簡,學生才能得心應手,同時讓學生整體回顧本節(jié)課的重點內(nèi)容。Motto;Never judge a book by its covers.此格言的安排是為了培養(yǎng)學生尊重他人的品德,不以貌取人。Step5.Homework1. Copy the sentences in grammar focus.2. Describe your friend, your parent, your teacher or any other person, and then write it down in your exercise book通過以上幾步的語言輸入練習,讓學生在進一步創(chuàng)造性活用所學語言,提高學生的寫作能力。Unit 1 What does she look like?(The second period)能力目標 :1學完本課,學會描述人物外貌。2能積極思維,運用所學單詞,短語及句型,結合實際生活進行靈活運用。情感目標:讓學生學會友好地描述別人的形象。(二)教學重點:掌握本課新單詞、句型和怎樣描述一個人的外貌。(三)教學難點:掌握運用動詞have和be描述人物外貌的方法。Teaching steps:Step1.Warming-upFree talk:讓學生描述自己的家人、朋友及喜愛的明星,增添他人對自己的了解。學生拿出事先準備好的自己最喜愛的電影、足球明星,在小組里輪流進行描述。S1: I like Yao Ming very much.
