2019-2020年高中英語(yǔ) Unit 18 Lesson 1 What Is Beauty教案 北師大版選修6 Teaching Aim: Grammar: the usage of used to and would Reading: fast reading and intensive reading to understand the passage deeply and learn to work out the main structure of the passage. Stage 1 warm up Give students some pictures and let them e to the conclusion that beauty is in the eye of the beholders. Stage 2 pre-reading a. Some pictures to show the meaning of several words Stage 3 fast reading Read the passage quickly and answer the questions Stage 4 intensive reading Read the passage carefully and finish the true or false questions. Finish exercise 3 and 4. Stage 5 oral practice Show students some pictures about artificial beauty and ask them to voice their opinions on this matter. You can use "used to" or "would" to describe actions that you did repeatedly in the past. I used to walk to school. I would walk to school. We can use "used to," but not "would," to talk about past situations (not repeated actions). I used to live in Paris. Would與used to都可用來(lái)表示過(guò)去經(jīng)常性或習(xí)慣性的動(dòng)作,常??梢該Q用。如: (1)When we were boys we used to/would go swimming every summer. 小時(shí)候,每到夏天我們都要去游泳。 (2)He used to/would spend every penny he earned on books. 過(guò)去,他通常把掙來(lái)的錢(qián)全花在買(mǎi)書(shū)上。 Would與used to都不能用來(lái)表示動(dòng)作發(fā)生的具體頻度或具體的一段時(shí)間。 例如,不能說(shuō): (3) I would/used to go to France six times. (4)He used to live in Africa for twenty years. 上兩句應(yīng)改成: (5)I went to France six times. 我去過(guò)法國(guó)6次。 (6)He lived in Africa for twenty years. 他在非洲住過(guò)20年。 ( a ) Used to可指過(guò)去的狀態(tài)或情況,would則不能。如: (7)School children used to know the story of how Abraham Lincoln walked five miles to return a penny hed overcharged a customer.(不能用would) 過(guò)去,學(xué)校的孩子們都知道亞伯拉罕林肯怎樣步行5英里退還多收顧客1便士的故事。 (8)Yet,he cannot but remember China as it used to be.然而,他不會(huì)不記得舊日的中國(guó)(不能用would)。 ( b ) Would表示反復(fù)發(fā)生的動(dòng)作。如果某一動(dòng)作沒(méi)有反復(fù)性,就不能用 would,只能用 used to。例如: (9) And from that day on, as soon as the table was cleared and the dishes were gone. Mother would disappear into her sewing room to practice. 從那天起,只要碗盤(pán)撤掉、飯桌一清理干凈,媽媽就馬上躲進(jìn)做針線(xiàn)活的房間練習(xí)起來(lái)。(具有反復(fù)性) (10)I used to live in Beijing. 我過(guò)去住在北京。(沒(méi)有反復(fù)性) ( c ) Used to表示過(guò)去經(jīng)常性或習(xí)慣性的動(dòng)作或狀態(tài)現(xiàn)在已經(jīng)結(jié)束,would則表示有可能再發(fā)生。如: (11)People used to believe that the earth was flat. 過(guò)去,人們總以為地球是扁平的。(現(xiàn)在已不再這樣認(rèn)為) (12)He would go to the park as soon as he was free.過(guò)去,他一有空就去公園。(現(xiàn)在有可能再去) 注意:used to的否定式和疑問(wèn)句: (13)過(guò)去我不喜歡歌劇。 I used not to like opera. I usedn‘t to like opera. I didn’t use to like opera. (14)過(guò)去你喜歡歌劇嗎? Used you to like opera? Did you use to like opera? (15)You used to like opera, didnt you? 你過(guò)去喜歡歌劇,是嗎? (16)There used to be a church here, usednt there? 過(guò)去這里有座教堂,是不是? Exercise 6 (1) plete the sentences. Answers 1 used 2 use 3 use 4 would 5 wouldn’t 6 Would (2) Read out more examples of “used to” and “would” from the text and answer the questions. Answers People did these things regularly.
