Why does humor work a lot? There are several reasons.People will enjoy what you have to say if it is presented with humor. But,more importantly,if you are in a situation where important, and perhaps controversial (有爭議的) ,ideas must be presented to less than open minds, humor allows those ideas to be presented in a nonthreatening(無威脅的) manner. Abraham Lincoln was famous for his ability to relate humorous stories to make a point. Humor used carefully throughout a presentation will also keep the listeners interest high. In a word, individuals learning how to use humor in their speeches can strengthen arguments, support interesting presentations and, most of all, entertain their audience in a positive and fortable way. While popular culture may well hold many kinds of humor, some of it has no place in presentations that are designed to educate and encourage the audience. If you want to bee a professional excellent edian whose goal is 100% entertainment, then you may be able to use some of the reference materials like The Art of Using Humor in Public Speaking. They can help you develop your skills and sources of humor. To that end,_your participation in this study of humor will bee necessary. Although Charles Darwin thought that trees are peting for survival of the fittest, Simard shows just how wrong he was. In fact, the_opposite_is_true:_trees survive through their cooperation and support, passing around necessary nutrition “depending on who needs it”Nitrogen (氮) and carbon are shared through miles of underground fungi (真菌)networks, making sure that all trees in the forest ecological system give and receive just the right amount to keep them all healthy. This hidden system works in a very similar way to the networks of neurons (神經(jīng)元) in our brains, and when one tree is destroyed, it affects all.Simard talks about “mother trees”, usually the largest and oldest plants on which all other trees depend. She explains how dying trees pass on the wealth to the next generation, transporting important minerals to young trees so they may continue to grow. When humans cut down “mother trees” with no awareness of these highly plex “tree societies” or the networks on which they feed, we are reducing the chances of survival for the entire forest.“We didnt take any notice of it” Simard says sadly. “Dying trees move nutrition into the young trees before dying, but we never give them chance.” If we could put across the message to the forestry industry, we could make a huge difference towards our environmental protection efforts for the future.文章大意:本文介紹了植物界的一種現(xiàn)象:樹和樹之間是相互依存的關(guān)系。母親樹會在臨死前把營養(yǎng)傳給下一代讓它們繼續(xù)生長。63The underlined sentence “the opposite is true” in Paragraph 2 probably means that trees _ . Ive been in the humor business for over 50 years, and I still dont get tired of putting smiles on peoples faces. I think humor is not just jokes that you can find on the Internet.Therapeutic (醫(yī)療的) humor can help people who are sick by teaching them to laugh at many of lifes problems. Laughter causes the brain to produce some chemicals which help your body relax. People in Japan found that skin wounds healed up faster for patients who watched Charlie Chaplins edies than for patients who watched weather reports. I believe that the surest and easiest way to send a“feel good” message and to reduce stress is through laughter! Over the years,I have gotten hundreds of emails with respect to my website and my work. I got the following email from a person I do not know named Wayne. He writes:“I wish to thank you for brightening up my day a bit. I found your site during a very difficult time in my life. You see, my mother passed away in July of this year. Later my friend introduced me to your website and I decided to take a look. Thanks for the laughs I had today. Wayne.”From this email you can probably see why Ive been in the humor business for such a long time. Research has shown that having the ability to laugh at ourselves, and at all of the crazy things we do, can be good for our wellbeing. My advice is for everyone to get a lot of Vitamin H (H is short for humor and for health)文章大意:本文以一名多年從事幽默工作的人員講述了幽默的好處。鼓勵人們生活中只要尋找幽默之處,人們就會有美好的生活和健康的身體。67Which of the following is wrong? A. Also people remember you because of your humour. But I think I dont have a very good sense of humour. Could you suggest how to build on this? Radha Karnik This is a great question that is unfortunately difficult to answer. I can only give you my views on this topic, which may or may not be correct. I know that my sense of humour developed over time. When I was younger I was not funny at all; now I can easily make people laugh. At the same time, sometimes I say things that I think are very funny but others do not. Improving wit and humour, I believe, is an ongoing process. Now, there are various forms of humour and everyone has their individual style. Overall, I believe being fluent in a language is very important for being witty or funny. The way we play around with words adds the “funny” tag to an otherwise normal sentence. Also, seeing irony is very important. I think humour is often t- 1.請仔細閱讀文檔,確保文檔完整性,對于不預(yù)覽、不比對內(nèi)容而直接下載帶來的問題本站不予受理。
