Instead they are hiding in a small hut on the edge of a mountain during a snowstorm with nothing to eat. 分析: 此句中“with nothing to eat”是“with+賓語+to do”構(gòu)成的復(fù)合結(jié)構(gòu),在句中作狀語。其中to do 作賓補,表將要發(fā)生的動作。表示動作已發(fā)生時,應(yīng)用:with+賓語+doing/done.With so much work to do, I dont know what to start with. 有如此多的工作要做,我不知道該先做什么。 4. Charlie first picks out the laces and eats them as if they were spaghetti. Then he cuts off the leather top of the shoe as if it were the finest steak. 1). Pick out 挑出,分辨出She was picked out from thousands of applicants for the job. 從數(shù)千申請人中挑選出她來做這份工作2). 句中的as if they were spaghetti 和as if it were the finest steak是從屬連詞as if 引導(dǎo)的方式狀語從句。as if 等于as though, 意思是“就像.似的,仿佛似的”。as if 引導(dǎo)的從句,若表示很可能的事實用陳述語氣,若表示與事實有可能相反就用虛擬語氣。E.g.陳述語氣The animal was walking as if/though its leg was hurt. 這動物走路的樣子好像腿受了傷。She spoke to me as if/though she knew me. 她和我說話的神情,好像她早就認識我。虛擬語氣He talks as if/though he knew everything.他說起話來好像什么都知道似的。He behaved as if/though nothing had happened. 他裝作若無其事的樣子。3). Cut sth off/ cut off sth 切下,割下,砍下Mind you dont cut your fingers off/ cut off your fingers. 小心別切斷了手指頭。Cut sb/sth off (常用于被動語態(tài)): 停止向某人供應(yīng)某物,使某人或某事物與外界隔絕。If you dont pay your gas bill soon you may be cut off. 你若不立即付清煤氣費,就要停止向你供氣。The children were cut off by the incoming tide. 漲潮把孩子們困住了。5. He eats each mouthful with great enjoyment. mouthful adj. 一口,滿口I felt so full that I couldnt eat another mouthful. 我太飽了,一口也吃不下了。at a mouthful 一大口拓展: -ful 是一個后綴,加在名詞之后,表示“充滿.的”類似的還有:handful一把,cupful 一滿杯,spoonful 一匙等。 6.
