You should follow it up by writing to follow up 對(duì)采取進(jìn)一步行動(dòng),加強(qiáng)e.g. Lucy followed up her interview with a telephone call.5. Nod your head when you agree withnod ones head 點(diǎn)頭e.g. She nodded her head to show that she agreed with me.6. This allows you to prepare good answers and means you wont have to answer questions off the top of your head during the interview.The idiom off the top of your head means from the knowledge you have in your memory.e.g. He was famous for being able to answer difficult questions off the top of his head. Off the top of my head, I can only think of one post office near here. 7. It can also give you the edge over other candidates, so remember to check your spelling, punctuation and grammar. The idiom give you the edge over sb./sth. means to have a small advantage over sb./sth.e.g. Good boxers are always looking for something to give them the edge over their opponents in a fight. You might be better at maths but I have the edge over you in sports.8. If you follow the advice Ive given you today, landing a job should be as easy as pie.1) The word land means succeeded in getting.e.g. Sam has just landed a post as manager assistant in this big pany.2) The idiom as easy as pie = as easy as ABC means very easy.e.g. Its as easy as pie/ABC for the scientist to solve the maths problem.9. He found living among local people there to be challenging but worthwhile.句中分詞短語 living among local people 用作賓語;不定式短語 to be challenging but worthwhile 是賓語補(bǔ)足語,這里也可省略 to be,直接用形容詞作賓語補(bǔ)足語。e.g. We found him (to be) dishonest.Homework 1.
