、nstructive.” Lee is currently negotiating to sell his patent to an umbrella producer. So, just what is the story behind the windshield wiper? Well, Mary Anderson came up with the idea in 1902 after a visit to New York City. The day was cold and stormy, but Anderson still wanted to see the sights,

consid

in reality事實(shí)上,實(shí)際上;in a word總之;at last最后;as a result結(jié)果。

、么,根據(jù)問(wèn)題可以看出應(yīng)是回答:I enjoy…most. enjoy后面的賓語(yǔ)要用動(dòng)名詞形式,因此選C。 (be) aimed

、 at針對(duì),(be) intended for/designed for為…… make for意為“走向, 前往”;make off表示“匆忙離開(kāi)”,但是其后不能接賓語(yǔ),故選B。 A。 15.A What do you make of sth?

根據(jù)文章第一段提到的“…the less famous inventors…the traffic light and the windshield wiper?” 根據(jù)文章第二段最后一句“…students learn the answers to these questions, they are better prepared to recognize opportunities for inventing a

、nd more motivated to give inventing a try.” 根據(jù)文章第三段“If I had not heard the story of the windshield wiper's invention…I never would have dreamed of turning my bad experience during a rainstorm into something so constructive.” Ⅲ. 20. Because they want to practise their language skills and learn more about other cultures. 21. Key pals. 22.
